# Run your firm headless. > Practice software for small firms The whole practice in one console, with your lawyers at the head. - 1996 · Docketing: invoice - 2004 · Document management: invoice - 2015 · Practice management: invoice - 2026 · Marlow: matter None of them has ever sent a matter. Marlow’s posted figures: - a provisional, posted flat: $199 - until the filing exists: $0 - reminders, then daily: 30/14/7 days ## Your software bills you. Ours brings you matters. Two things, and neither is a feature. They are what the platform is built out of. - **It comes with work in it.** Client demand arrives as opened matters, conflicts already screened. - **It comes with revenue in it.** Reviews, signatures and refusals reach your lawyers, priced flat. ## One console, the whole practice. One record underneath, so every view agrees. - **Docket.** Nothing lapses silently. A date with no owner says so; rungs close on evidence. - **Matters.** Read off the record. What a successor, an insurer or an auditor would see. - **Documents.** Every version kept. Each file is hashed as it lands; the client file leaves whole. - **Final week.** One tap a day. In the final week, one named lawyer acknowledges each day. - **Money.** Paid to your lawyers. Signing work is paid to your lawyers at flat fees and consolidated to the firm. ## Never a share of any fee. - **What Marlow costs** (no filing, no charge): Flat prices per filing, posted in full before anything is signed, invoiced separately, and never scaled to any fee your firm earns. Government fees pass through at cost. - **What Marlow pays** (Rule 5.4): Each signing act carries a flat fee, fixed before anyone takes it, 100% the acting lawyer’s own, consolidated only inside your firm. A paid, reasoned refusal counts the same as a signature. - **How your firm bills** (by construction): Your firm bills its own clients however it lawfully bills them, hourly included, and holds client funds in its own trust account. Marlow’s money never touches that account. - **How your firm leaves** (Rule 1.16(d)): The complete client file, portable, surrendered on demand: docket, documents, correspondence, and record leave with you, readable without us. The rule is the floor, not the ceiling. ## The engine, graded in public The engine Marlow runs on, api.lawyer, is graded in public: A+, 10 of 10 checks at api.qa/api.lawyer. - [Read the current verdicts](https://api.qa/api.lawyer) ## Your lawyers at the head. Five short steps end in a live sandbox workspace, seeded with synthetic matters to walk. The sequence at /onboard is live: its first step records your firm to the access register today. This page promises the record and the product it depicts; it does not promise a docket of matters waiting for your firm on day one. How much work arrives, and when, rides live demand from the client-facing services we run ourselves. ## For machines This page content-negotiates with HTML as the default; ask for markdown with Accept: text/markdown or text/plain, a curl, wget, or httpie user agent, or ?format=md. GET /llms.txt indexes the site; GET /healthz is a typed liveness probe; GET /og/v2.png is the share card. Access runs as a sequence at GET /onboard: POST /onboard/1 (form-encoded firm, name, email) records the firm, and steps 2-5 enrich the same entry over the step cookie: role (managing-partner | firm-owner | practice-group-lead | another-firm-role) and firmSize (2-5 | 6-10 | 11-20 | another-size); areas (patent | trademark | corporate | litigation | another-area, repeatable) and software (clio | mycase | another-system | none); collab (slack | teams | neither) and suite (google | microsoft-365 | another-suite); posture (now | this-quarter | watching) with optional practice notes. A repeat with the same email updates the recorded details. Completing step 5 provisions a temporary anonymous sandbox workspace on api.lawyer (synthetic state, TTL-bound) and the sequence lands on GET /onboard/workspace, the live view of that grain; after expiry, POST /onboard/workspace provisions a fresh one. The engineering surface behind this product is api.lawyer. --- Marlow is practice software: it gives no legal advice, is not a law firm, and signs nothing. Every act of legal judgment is a licensed lawyer’s own, and nothing in Marlow can commit past a lawyer’s refusal. Marlow is the flagship of the family behind gigs.lawyer, bench.lawyer, and shingle.legal, built on the same published, continuously verified engine. The register has one use: reaching your firm as its cohort forms. It is shown to no one else. © 2026 marlow.legal, by Startups.studio · [gigs.lawyer](https://gigs.lawyer) · [bench.lawyer](https://bench.lawyer) · [shingle.legal](https://shingle.legal) · [api.lawyer](https://api.lawyer)
